Lets Ambush Langkawi!

12pm:Class ended. No plans today, might as well just rest today.

2pm: Received a call "Kia, ki Langkawi." @.@

But I did agree so...

Kind of a crazy decision to make because 3 days later, we're gonna have an exam >.> Not to mention whatever we were gonna do there, was planned on that very day itself haha. A total of 10 people went on this trip. 6 girls and 4 dumbfounded guys who were still in shock on how crazy the girls can be =.=

Its been a while since I have ever set foot on a ferry, let alone Langkawi.

Though, I'm surprised so many people went abroad the 7pm ferry. Its the last ferry and its already dinner time when we reached Langkawi.
The ferry looked 10 times better outside compared to the departure terminal...

We waited for quite sometime around the gates because the car we rented weren't here yet. We waited even longer after that because those scumbag dealers used up all the petrol in the car, then loan it to us. Hence, we can't start the car =.=

After all that is out of the way, TzeYang and Barrie became the drivers and took us all to the motel we booked. It took us plenty of time just to locate the motel, because it was seriously hard to find...

As we settle down, we walked around the streets to look for food. Stumbled across a few duty free shops, so in we go.

Chocolates and liquor were really cheap here, since its tax-free. Though, we decided to buy chocolates the next day or it would've melt when we go home.

But you know the equation for girls+chocolates. Also boys+'hungryandhaventeatdinner'...

As hungry as a wolf, we boys decided to just hover them out and look for a place for dinner...

Came across this seafood restaurant that is... well... expensive!
There's a night market nearby. So, what's the harm on taking a walk in the night market, looking at the merchandises? I was wrong.

New equation: Girls+shopping and boys+'waitingforgirlsthatwentshopping'. You guess the result.
After a looooong day we finally decided to hit the sack.
Uhm, 1 room--->2 queen sized bed---> 10 people sleeping. How the heck is that possible?
We had to sleep in a circle after combining the 2 beds together... Cramped like a sardine... But I was so tired I never gave a damn and just slept =.=

Woke up 6am and took a shower. The guys had to go down very early to avoid the motel owner. She didn't allow 10 of us to stay in a room, we lied that half of us would go stay in a friend's house...

In the morning the guys took a quick stroll to find a spot for breakfast. After we are done, the girls are still not prepared =.= The time allocated is 8am. It took them until 8.45am... Its a good thing we woke them up at 6am.

After breakfast, we've decided that cable car would be our 1st destination because it might be loaded with a big crowd, and the cable car would take up a lot of time. TzeYang and Barrie are the drivers, and I was the GPS =.=lll Reading maps ain't as easy as I thought it would be.

On the way there, we stumbled across a gas station...
... that looked like this. Man...

There is a harbour directly beside it, and the view was magnificent. Since its still early we stopped there for some pictures.

The girls wanted to do something... a little risky.
Heck, looking at them doing this already freaked me a little bit. If its the sea its okay, but its full of rocks below... And its about a story high. Well, thumbs up for being braver than the boys haha.

And as I said, the view is magnificent.
Moving on to the cable car.
Parking fail =.=

It was a HUUUUGE disappointment because the cable car was delayed, due to strong wind. So all operations cannot be held in the morning that day.
Its a bummer, but the surrounding was like a mini village itself, so we took a walk. There was even a mini zoo with a few deers in it, but friggin' useless admins are charging a fee just to take a walk inside the zoo. Its less than 200 meters in perimeter =.=
They never say anything about taking a picture from the outside, though.
Meet Pinky. She's a 3-year-old pony. Her owners decorated her in pink accessories, hence, Pinky. Her owner charges RM30 to tour the village on it. Heck any of us are paying that much for a pony ride. Could get it for half the price on a full grown horse back in Penang, and even free for those who join equestrian in UniMAP...

Next stop, 7 Wells.
Its a long hike up, but not as long as a hill. But it was worth it.
There are 7 wells up there (obviously). The water is sooooooo cool and refreshing... I wish I brought my swimming outfit along, it was so cool...

Couldn't stand the temptation, I took my shoes and cellphone off and walked around shallow areas.

Yes, I fell =.= Well, half of me was wet haha.

The couple of the day xD.

Next stop, Black Sand Beach.

On our way there, we saw a beach. Heck, why not? Still got time mah.

Emo xD Shes gonna kill me if she sees this...

The sun was SCORCHING HOT! Burning my skin, and my soul. I thought for a moment I was feeling the temperature of Hell =.=
I was wet once, and changed my clothes. I had no more spare ones with me, so I'm not gonna be a fool and jump into the water =.=
This pic is actually a request from him -.-

And some other requested pics are these;
There are more, just go look 'em up in facebook. Look at their expressions xD.

On with Black Sand Beach.
The sand really IS black. Like 10 barrels of diesel oil was dumped there. Art session time.
I bought a I <3 Langkawi T-shirt at the souvenir shop there. I bought what I thought was my size, it ended up a little smaller than usual... And it shrunk when I washed it a few days ago =.=

That marks the end of our journey.
Look at the amount of chocolates bought... Some even sum up to a total of RM192...
Dinner at Hai Thien restaurant to end the day. The food was not bad, and the price was less than half of what the seafood restaurant in Langkawi charged us...

Everything was in a rush because we only have half a day to see everything we want. I even hesistated at 1st when invited to go Langkawi. But after all of it was over, I had nothing to regret. Probably one of the best memories in my life.

Flashback of 2010

Well, within minutes 2010 will budge allowing 2011 to appear.

Its been a LOOOOOOOONG 365 days and I think I'm tougher than who I used to be back in SPM days. 2010 might or might not be a good year, but it did change me. Not to mention all the things that happened, brings me closer to the ugly reality of life.

Lets have a bit of a flashback, starting with the bad memories.

1) Most of you might have known, I've lost a friend due to a very powerful object, money. I know I've stressed this thing many times, but some grudges take longer than you would expect to let it go. I still can't though. Knowing a friend's true face with money ain't exactly sweet memories for me. But this did toughen me up, knowing I can't trust people so easily.

2) Anya passed away.
A good girl at heart, and a cheerful, loud, innocent girl in the outside. Its sad to see her go so quickly. May you rest in peace.

3) Dragon boat incident. One of my campmate's brother was a victim. I don't really know about the sport, but as I can see, its pretty dangerous. Eventhough some disasters rarely happen, one should not forget safety precautions. Its a sad thing to have deaths in this case, but this just shows that life is uncertain, and please be careful of everything we do. May they rest in peace.

Enough of these bad memories, I need to think of some positive ones to make my mood better...

1) I'm recognised as a Red Crescent member.

Its a must to attend this event in order to be recognised. Once this event is done, you're officially a first aider. I expected a very formal ceremony, but it turned out to be a pretty fun... outing.

2) Attended Flag Day.
Its the day most people feared. Practically some people who knew about this day would hide in homes to prevent being asked for donation. Its a pretty good experience though, I get to see a lot of different personalities. Some were very kind, some were snobbish, some were ignorants, some purposely avoid at the sight of us, and 1 particular person whom I met... I think he is crazy... A real eye-opener, that day.

3) Attended PFS Cross Country Run.
I still don't get why its called Cross Country. Its just 15KM, barely even Cross State... It is kinda hard for me to accomplish the top 50 positions, since I am physically-deteriorated... Gotta train my stamina a lot now...

4) Attended PFS Sports Day.
B-O-R-I-N-G! If I wasn't in charge first aid, I wouldn't even attend.

5) Attended the Khoo Family Reunion.
It was a dinner for the entire Khoo family. I've met people I never seen before, and not knowing I'm actually related to them. I even saw foreigners, since I see a white guy wearing kilt. Must be Swedish...

6) Attended the PFS Librarian Trip to Peng Hwa.
I gotta say, its probably the best trip I've ever taken in 7 years of studying in PFS. We get to see how advanced Peng Hwa is, and how... ancient PFS is... We even went to Sri Peranakan after than to see the Nyonya culture.

7) Took part in the PFS 6th Form Orientation Games.
In 2009, we got served. 2010, its the lower form's turn to get served. Paints, check. Sparkles, check. Water balloons, check. Flour, check. Now lets go torture these little kids!!! Maybe I should have said these back then....

8) Had my 1st blood donation.
My 1st time donating blood. I'm not really afraid of needles, but I'm not a big fan of the pain either. Good thing I was mature enough not to scream in pain. It wasn't that bad when they suck your blood out using the tube, it was the time they poke into your vein that had a very painful pinch-like pain. After that, it became boring... Too bad the girl I donate blood to passed away. Seeing how she fought her way through leukemia, I admire her strength. Never saw anyone as optimistic as her, and she had this disease on top of it. May she rest in peace.

9) Straightened my hair.
No, I did not do this by myself. I kinda wish I knew how. My aunt helped me with it when she came back from Singapore. Like it, love it, livin' it. Too bad its gone now, since my hair grew, and its curly... Waiting for Jun next year... Time to keep my hair long, so don't be startled to see my lion-like hair when you meet me. Its kinda like a cauliflower now when I don't comb it.

10) Bought contacts.
Glasses began to bug me. Every time I run, they shake, ruining my vision. Every time I sweat, it drips and flows into my eyes. Every time I rub my eyes, the glasses got blurred. Every time I eat hot food, the steam blurred my vision... So I decided to get contacts. Took me 30 minutes to put it on the 1st time, now I only need less than 5 minutes.

11) Helped and attended the King And I PFS play.
The play was pretty good, very unexpected of the actors/actresses to act so well, considering what I saw during training time. The one thing I regret is helping them. The suitcase I borrowed, was slightly damaged, and its a very ancient suitcase that cannot be found in stores anymore. I wasted my time finding stuffs for the play, and ending up having my cert with my name misspelled... I sent it back for correction and never got it back since. This is the appreciation I get for wasting my time.

12) Attended prom night for PFS.
I still remember freaking out not having a mask to wear. I still remember the hairdo I had, thanks to Melvin for helping me. It turned out great. I still remember making my way to my uncles house in Batu Feringghi to borrow a suit. I still remember the sucky food they served. I still remember the awesome people who attended. It was a wonderful night.

13) Had a birthday bash in school.
It was 2 days earlier but since I'm busy on the real day, my friends decided to throw a suprise party in class. And as you can see, I got cake-smacked... My 1st time ever getting smacked in the face with a cake... It was probably the best and worst birthday ever... I had lots of friends celebrating it with me and it was fun, but on the real day I had 2 consecutive tuitions... And Mr. Sim put me in shame by pointing out my mistakes out loud to about 100 students JUST because its my birthday =.=

14) Last but not least, attended my 1st paintball match.
Already explained it in the previous post, go take a look.

15) I've sat for STPM, and completed it. Probably the best memory I had in 2010, but it might be the worst when I take my results near March. I may regret taking Form 6, But one thing for sure, I never regret meeting everyone I know on the way. I may have some clashes with some though, but that just made me stronger.

Ahhhh, its been a while since I've ever written a post this long, my hands must've been rusty... Lots of things has happened in 2010, and it made me a better person, I hope... Life is unpredictable, whatever happens in 2011 I might or might not wanted it to, but I have no control of it. All I can do now, is pray that 2011 is a better year compared to 2010, and same to 2012, 2013 and henceforth. Theres nothing wrong with wishing for a better year, isn't it?

2010 is past now. Happy New Year people, welcome 2011 with big hands, and I wish everyone the best in whatever they do, and accomplished more than what we already did in 2010.

Happy Belated Birthday, FreedomAndImmunity!

I've been very busy lately, and I've forgotten about my blog turning 1-year-old on May 23rd, 2010... Bad blogger I am...

Anyways, Happy Belated Birthday FreedomAndImmunity! I'm celebrating this occasion 2 months later than the original date, sigh...

Thanks to this blog, I've improved my social skills, seriously. I began exploring things more to blog about it. I've participated in A LOT more events, activities, and occasions just to find materials to blog. I've gained patience and satisfaction at times letting my anger out into my blog with words.

And since I started to blog, I've developed a tendency to READ blogs. Whenever I'm free i usually click the 'Next blog' button on the upper left side of the IE. Some random blogs came out, but I don't care, if its interesting, I read it. I've became quite a frequent viewer of KennySia's blog. I may not be as into blogs as him to dress up like a woman or some sort just to get blog materials, but I admire his passion. One of the reasons why I read his blog most compared to others is because of his humor and his ability to find interesting blog materials...

Looking at KennySia's blog and other random blogs I encounter, I realise that a blog full of words may not be interesting... I've seen blogs that do not contain a single photo and full or words, I could not even last reading half a page of it. Thats when I decided to take lots of photos for my blog. I may not have photos all the time, but most of my posts, I try to insert at least a photo, just as a prove that it actually happened.

It is then I decided I need a camera. Though, one is expensive and I couldn't carry it around all the time. The cheapest DSLR would easily cost RM2000, and a digital camera would either be troublesome, or would not be available easily because my father needs it most of his time. I don't wanna waste money to buy a new digital camera for myself until I work or when it became really necessary in university.

It is then I got this baby...

Sony Ericsson Cybershot, C902. It has the basic functions a cellphone has, which is sufficient for me. I don't need internet for my cell, nor cool games in it, but I do need a camera. This baby has a 5.0 megapixel camera, although at times it doesn't really felt like it. The flash is not a very good one though, but what can I expect from a cellphone camera? It is sufficient for me during my outings.

Halfway blogging through the whole year, I realise that most of my posts are about the events or outings that I participate in. So as a result I chose to major my posts on lifestyle and events. I dedicate at most 90% of my posts to events and lifestyles and the rest would be either my rants, or pure randomness.

Another thing I've decided to do is to change the layout of my blog once every year, and hopefully, during the anniversary of the existence of my blog. This is my old layout.

I was kinda bored with it looking at the same background for a year or more. So I've decided to change to something more simple, yet sophisticated (hopefully), and, VOILA!

Last year, I had a hard time deciding whether to blog or not to blog. Its been a tough decision for me, and you guys pretty much know what decision I made. I never regret it. I enjoyed every moment of blogging. Eventhough my mood to blog may vary from time to time, blogging always satisfy me. I promise to myself I must at least update 3 or 4 times a month, and at least once during exam months.

This may not sound true to all of you, but... I think I've developed a new hobby...

Thank you, FreedomAndImmunity.
