PFS Sports Day

Jeez... If I wasn't on duty for Red Crescent on that day, I wouldn't have come. It was one of the most time-wasting days among all events held. The only moment I was waiting for was at the end of the day. Jeez... This post shall be as simple as possible.

VIPs will be VIPs. We had to put up a "GRAND" entrance for them. Every Uniform Unit had to send a few Guard of Honors to welcome their arrival. Though, suprisingly, the VIPs were quite punctual, about 5 minutes late only( VERY big difference from other VIPs already, 'kay?).

There is one event being held before hand, tent-decoration. All the 8 houses were to decorate their tents as lively as possible. Some skipped class for days just to do this stuff...
Then, marching competition. This year, finally things are back to normal. Previous years all houses went bombastic, releasing birds, making formations, doing dramas and henceforth. This year every house sticked to just simple marching, with decorations and a mascot for each house of course...

Being in charge for first aiding, I find this day very boring, not to mention warm as the tent has no fan... There are no casualties as well, only some cramps. What I despite most is unworthy, filthy ignorants. There is one fella, whom me and one of my friend had to aid. He got cramps on his big, hairy, smelly leg... We had to hold our breaths everytime we tried massaging him... I wonder if he was talking the truth, as he wasn't in pain at all, and he could woe his female friends while we were giving him treatment. After we were done, he just walked away, not saying a word 'thanks' or anything... Didn't even looked at us after we were done, such ignorant fool.

Finally, the moment I was waiting for, the band performance. Every year, they did a fantastic job, never fail to impress everyone. This year, they did a little change, it wasn't the same style as it was every year. Its more of the rebellious type now. Its no more just music, music, a little dance, and henceforth. Now, theres a bit of 'youth' in it.
Though I liked the performance of the previous years better, alls well ends well. The woe-d the audience, gained a big round of applause, and left a mark in everyones heart, ending the day.

601-K Four Generation Khoo Family Reunion

Okay, I owe too much post already, so I'll try to spare some time and go all out today. Beginning of the month, my far-far-far relatives who are still in Penang planned a reunion for the entire existing Khoo family in Tanjung Bungah Hotel. How I wish I have DSLR (and, of course, the skill to use it...) for this event. My cousin brother automatically became the photographer, since he works as one. Though, my cellphone is still my loyal, picture-taking toy.

As you can see, my even-further-relatives came as well. Heck I've never met about half of them. Neither did my sister. The photoshoot session took damn long, and the weather was hot and damp, eventhough it rained as the photoshoot session ended. At first, I was wet because of my sweat, then I was wet again due to the rain...

Haha, my nephew, cute?

Besides it being a reunion, its to promote the culture of the extinct Baba Nyonya clan. Almost all of the women wore Baju Kebaya to the event, well, the 3rd Generation did. Besides clothing, some of the most famous creation that symbolises Baba Nyonya is their beaded items, be it purse or shoes. An example below, made by my aunt.
Afterwards, its time to dig in! We were moved to an outdoor Buffet-Style-Hut-Restaurant.

One thing they could not predict; weather. It started to pour slowly, and drifted to a heavy downpour... It is impossible to even BE outside, so we were shifted to the bar nearby.
Minutes later, we had to move to a multi-funtional ballroom nearby. It was where we relaxed before the event started, now it became a dining room...
The food sucked. I always go for seconds for the main course when it comes to buffet, but not this one. Only the refreshment stand attracts me. Later, the was a performance by a musician who plays the olden instrument. I do not know the name of it, sorry.
Later, a little 'pageant'. its a little controversial to some, so I'll only post one picture on it, and let you readers decide what it is.
But I guess its pretty obvious ain't it? Thats all for the day.
